Turkey initiated a safeguard investigation on "mobile phones" on the 5th of December 2014. Now Turkey seems ready to impose safeguard measure on mobile phones. Turkey has more than 2 billion USD imports of smart phones annually. Now the question is not to value added or impact of this measure on the so-called domestic industry. The question is what will be the duration and the rate or amount of this measure and whether the measure will be brought to the Dispute Settlement Mechanism in the WTO by the mostly injured countries like South Korea, China or Vietnam.
